"The St. Martha Parish Community recognizes both friend and stranger as an honored guest. We strive to welcome each person as St. Martha welcomed Jesus. Embracing our Roman Catholicism, we live in faith, hope and charity, guided by the Holy Spirit and sustained by the sacraments. We commit ourselves to serve our neighbors and others and thus strengthen the Church for the next generation."
About St. Martha
We are located in the Village of Depew, Town of Cheektowaga, one mile from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Our parish is the result of a merger between St. Barnabas and Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Churches. These two parishes were founded in the early 1960's. As a part of the Diocese of Buffalo's "Journey of Faith in Grace" process, the two parishes made the decision to merge into one stronger community in 2011. As a result of the merger, St. Martha Parish was created. The title of St. Martha was the name choice of the people from both Parishes, and is a reflection of the hospitality and openness that St. Martha displayed in welcoming the Lord into her home and heart. Today, we strive to imitate that example by welcoming the Lord in each other, as we celebrate the presence of the risen Lord in our midst both in Sacrament and Word.
Today we are a parish of about 1,500 families and support our Parish School of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. A listing of our societies, ministries and organizations can be found under the headings "Ministries" and "Organizations".
