Children's Liturgy Committee

The mission of the Children's Liturgy Committee is to open the hearts and minds of the young, school age parish members to the Word of God as part of the celebration of the Eucharist.

The Children's Liturgy Committee meets monthly to plan the Liturgy of the Word for the children. The Word is opened for the children at a monthly Mass either during the priest's specially prepared homily within the church proper, or the children leave during the Liturgy of the Word for their own worship space. Here the Gospel is then presented and explored through various means. The children then rejoin the community for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The children's Mass is the third Sunday of the month at 9:30 AM. The Children's Choir also sings for this Liturgy.

The committee members prepare and distribute a monthly bulletin and activity sheet for the children to take home.  This is designed to make a connection between what was heard in the Sunday readings and their everyday lives. Volunteers need to be Virtus trained and have a personal background check.

The Children's Liturgy Committee is open to anyone interested in sharing the Gospel with our young people.
